Seeking Solutions! A Community Policing Forum

ABOUT THIS EVENT

SENATOR DODD, ASSEMBLYMEMBER GRAYSON and others are attending the town hall meeting on September 7, 2019. Our 3rd forum Seeking Solutions- A Community Policing Forum is
about the killings of black, brown and Indigenous people in Vallejo, CA. It is time for change and for taking action with our legislators in this “Diverse Vallejo Community.

We have asked and are being supported by Senator Dodd and Assemblymember Grayson who heard our pleas and have agreed to listen and take ACTION for change in our Vallejo community. This event is a necessity and a moral imperative.

We are also seeking the necessary funds to assist our city. Funding from the Federal, State and County policy makers should consider Vallejo as a city in crisis and needing addition mental health and de-esculation training for our community. This is why we have invited our legislators to hear what are concerns and needs are.

Participants in different sectors; mental health - Dr. Brenda Tucker LaRue, homelessness - Che’ Walton, Indigenous -
Melissa Mendoza 7 Generations Intertribal, Dr. Adam Clark - VCUSD, Lt. Horton- VPD, Chief Allio, Pastor’s Dawn Rowinsky and Brian Harris of the Faith community and a few others will be in attendance to respond as well.

This forum will be working on solutions of police accountability, VPD policing themselves (why?), citizens review board, true solutions and legislative CHANGE. With this town hall meeting, walls and titles down, the union of our residing Vallejo legislators and our vested community & invited professionals, together we can make the change that is needed.

sobre los asesinatos de personas negras, marrones e indígenas en Vallejo, CA. Es hora de cambiar y de tomar medidas con nuestros legisladores en esta “Comunidad diversa de Vallejo.

Hemos pedido y estamos siendo apoyados por el senador Dodd y el asambleísta Grayson, quienes escucharon nuestras súplicas y aceptaron escuchar y tomar medidas para cambiar nuestra comunidad de Vallejo. Este evento es una necesidad y un imperativo moral.

También estamos buscando los fondos necesarios para ayudar a nuestra ciudad. Los fondos de los encargados de formular políticas federales, estatales y del condado deben considerar a Vallejo como una ciudad en crisis y que necesita capacitación adicional en salud mental y desconstrucción para nuestra comunidad. Es por eso que hemos invitado a nuestros legisladores a escuchar cuáles son las preocupaciones y necesidades.

Este foro trabajará en soluciones de responsabilidad policial, policías VPD (¿por qué?), Junta de revisión ciudadana, soluciones verdaderas y CAMBIO legislativo. Con esta reunión del ayuntamiento, los muros y los títulos caídos, la unión de nuestros legisladores residentes de Vallejo y nuestra comunidad con experiencia y profesionales invitados, juntos podemos hacer el cambio que se necesita.
