MCE hosts free webinar to introduce local businesses to benefits and opportunities available through CPUC's Supplier Diversity program
About this Event
MCE will be hosting a free informative webinar with guest speakers from the CPUC and PG&E in order to introduce local businesses to the benefits and opportunities available through the CPUC’s Supplier Diversity program. Tune in to learn how easy it is to certify your business through the Supplier Diversity Clearinghouseand access this multi–million dollar utility industry in California.
WHAT IS SUPPLIER DIVERSITY?
Commonly referred to as “Supplier Diversity,” General Order (GO) 156 is a California Public Utilities Commission(CPUC) program that encourages California utilities to prioritize contracts and subcontracts to businesses that meet diversity qualifications. To qualify, businesses must have a majority ownership of women, minority, disabled veteran, and/or LGBT owners. That is to say, 51% diversity–owned enterprises. Once certified as a diverse supplier, qualified businesses will be listed in the CPUC’s Clearinghouse, which utilities can then access for their contracting needs.
HOW CAN MCE HELP YOU?
In today’s competitive environment, Supplier Diversity certification is another way to get your business noticed and stand out among the competition. Certify your business and amplify your presence! As your local, not–for–profit Community Choice agency, MCE wants to make sure businesses in our communities are aware of this program, know how to qualify for the Clearinghouse, and get their questions answered.
